Bits and Bytes Killed the video star

Here it comes, with roaring cylinders the combination of the Bananenbuurman tears around the corner. A caravan is slowly becoming visible in the cloud of dust behind the car! It is the mobile studio of the Bananenbuurman !! On the way to a place where real content will actually be produced! And here is the end product: the linear editing of the trial workshops organized by Pet van de Luijtgaarden in Utrecht on May 15, 2021.

Three workshops could be followed, including the workshop "Filming". For this I have set up my caravan as an editing studio. A linear 2-machine edit set. Transferring parts from one video recorder to the other, but in the professional way! Editing on these old machines is very different from how videos are edited nowadays. Editing on the computer is very easy. You can still adjust or shorten everything while you're at it. If you edit with videotapes, then you really have to think very carefully about the structure of the video because this works just like pen and paper, you cannot move the written sentences. You can't take anything out or put anything in between. You can erase a written sentence, but you still keep seeing it. If you have little time for the editing, the video can unintentionally become too long: D This is also the case here! just long enough so that this gem will not be discovered by the Youtube algorithms and is reserved for us, appreciative viewers! : P

No computer was used in the making of this video! Everything is made on old analogue equipment of an average of 25 years old.

This is about the substantive value. Stripes, faults and errors are not important. Content was produced on location here! It is somewhat long and due to the ever-shorter attention span created by commercial interests and competition, the video can even be perceived as boring. Time really goes faster and faster!

I really had a lot of fun this day and it was great to build, connect and operate the mobile editing studio. In August we will do the workshop again in Winschoten spread over several days. https://www.thewasteland.nl

Labyrinth of collections by Pet van de Luijtgaarden at Buurtcamping 2020 Griftpark Utrecht THE MOVIE

Hereby the video report of the Buurtcamping 2020 in the Griftpark in Utrecht by Pet van de Luijtgaarden. It is a very nice, but somewhat long film. Assembly took more than 12 hours. For practical and legal reasons I had to replace the music with copyright-free music. This is unfortunately necessary. But I did my very best to capture the atmosphere and set everything to appropriate music. I think that turned out pretty well. :)

My thanks go to all the artists present (including Pet! :D ), visitors and organization!
